When he was approximately 20 years old, Shozo read the monthly edited magazine Kodomo no Kagaku (Science for Kids) brought by young Hirosse Osaka from Japan. This fact immensely changed his destiny because he felt strongly attracted by electrical engineering. He studied electrical techniques through this monthly edited magazine during 15 years, and his strong wish to follow in this sector made him abandon agriculture. With his parents' permission, he went with his wife to Ribeirão Preto and got a job in an electrical maintenance shop as an apprentice.

Thus, in 1939, he decided to settle down in Londrina, a new city that was arising in Northern Paraná. At this moment, the history of the beginning of NISHI was being written.

55 years of struggle: Mario Nishi.

Mario Nishi, the oldest son of Mr. Shozo, worked since the beginning of NISHI´s trajectory. In his adolescence, still in short pants, he became interested in the world of electricity having his father as master and role model.

"I still clearly remember of the time when we were at Hugo Cabral Street and we had the unfortunate case of having our little shop totally destroyed by the fire. In the next day we didn't have anything that could assure our living. We just had our will and belief in God that better days would come" - tells Mr. Mario Nishi.

This was and continues to be the mark and legacy of NISHI. It is the determination and courage of overcoming the biggest difficulties reported by a person who carries in his load the experience of 55 years leading NISHI.
